This is another winner from my 5 star collection...you really won't find a more buttery and moist cake...rises very high too.

2 1/2 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, softened (no sustitutions)
1 cup sugar
3 eggs, room temp
1 cup sour cream, room temp
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup mini chocolate chip
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
2 teaspoons cinnamon

Steps:

  • Set oven to 350 degrees.
  • Grease a tube pan (angel food cake pan).
  • Mix together all streusel ingredients; set aside.
  • Sift together the first 4 ingredients.
  • In a bowl cream the butter, sugar and eggs, until light and fluffy.
  • Mix together the dry ingredients with the cream mixture alternately with the sour cream; beat well.
  • Add vanilla; beat.
  • Pour 1/2 of batter into prepared pan.
  • Sprinkle with 1/2 of the streusel mix.
  • Add the remaining cake batter over the streusel.
  • Sprinkle with remaining streusel mix.
  • Bake for 1 hour.

2 pkg. (17.4-oz.) chocolate chip swirl quick bread & coffee cake mix
1 1/2 cups water
1/3 cup oil
4 eggs
1 cup powdered sugar
4 to 6 teaspoons milk

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Generously grease and flour 12-cup Bundt® pan.* Sprinkle 1/2 cup of the swirl mix in bottom of greased and floured pan.
  • In large bowl, combine bread mix, water, oil and eggs, beat at low speed until mix is moistened. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Pour 3 cups batter over swirl mix in pan. Sprinkle with remaining swirl mix. Carefully spread remaining batter over swirl mix.
  • Bake at 350°F. for 45 to 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 25 minutes. Invert onto serving plate. Cool 30 minutes or until completely cooled.
  • In small bowl, blend powdered sugar and enough milk for desired drizzling consistency. Drizzle over cake. Store cake loosely covered at room temperature.
